We are looking for a highly motivated Sr. Scientist Analytical Science & Technology based in the US.

Scope of the job

As Senior Scientist – US Analytical Science & Technology, you will be an integral part of Galapagos' expansion in the United States. In this role, you will work closely with our Decentralized Manufacturing Units to provide the adequate method related trainings, method transfers and overall continuous SME support. The main techniques used are flow cytometry, PCR, immunological assays and microbiological assays. This role directly impacts our model by improving product release strategy to allow more patients to be treated. 

Your role

  • Engineering and Clinical runs support as AS&T SME for US DMUs  

  • Perform method transfers for US DMUs

  • Provide on-the-job training for QC methods

  • Lead the implementations of new methods

  • Coordinate and support the deployment and qualification of equipment to our DMUs in close collaboration with the Support team

  • Review results, trends assay performance

  • Author protocols and reports

  • Write procedures, deviations, change controls and CAPAs

  • Work on method validations

Job requirements

Who are you ?

  • BSc/MSc with 5-10 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry or PhD with 2+ years of experience (ideally in Cell Therapy)

  • Direct experience and broad knowledge in various analytical techniques such as Flow Cytometry, PCR, cell-based assays are preferred. Experience with microbiological methods is a plus.

  • Experience with troubleshooting instruments and methods

  • Knowledge of GMP, ICH guidelines, pharmacopeia and regulatory requirements

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to be flexible with changing priorities

  • Self-driven and can-do mindset, without compromising quality

  • Ability to travel within and outside the US

  • Team player

Base compensation for this position ranges from 96,750 to 161,250. Actual base compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, qualifications, job-related knowledge, demonstrated skills and geographic location. The company reserves the right to modify base salary ranges at any time.
