We are looking for a Senior Technician to join our newly formed Pre-Clinical Process Development team in Leiden in a 6-month Galapagos contract.

Scope of the job

As Senior Technician in the Pre-Clinical Process Development team under Early-Stage Process Development, you will characterize and refine our novel CAR-T cell production processes, supporting Pre-clinical and Business Development evaluations and assessing functionality directly for the Cocoon and other platforms. Your work will help to bring our life saving medicines to the patients.

In this role, you will report to the Manager Pre-Clinical Process Development.

Your role

  • Process Development for CAR-T production with Cocoon or other platforms/models

  • Perform assays for assessing CAR-T functionality, i.e. cytotoxicity

  • Analyse the CAR-T with flow cytometry, i.e. composition, phenotype and activation

  • Establishing novel assay for evaluation of novel pipeline products

  • Development of assay to assess functionality for Cocoon and other platforms

  • Support and organize lab operational activities

  • Write work instructions and SOPs

Job requirements

Who are you?

  • BSc or MSc degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or related discipline

  • Working experience (3-5 years) in Biotech and/or Pharmaceutical Industry is preferred, GMP experience is considered as plus

  • Hands-on experience with (primary) cell-based assays, flow cytometry, and PCR

  • Experience with automatic cell processing equipment

  • Ability to execute high quality experiments, aid in data analysis, and write up results in protocols, reports and presentations

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to be flexible with changing priorities

  • Self-driven and can-do mindset, without compromising quality

  • Fluent in English
