We are looking for a highly motivated Associate Scientist in vitro biology/cellular Immunology, for the duration of 12 months.


Scope of the job

This position gives you the opportunity to perform top-level cellular biology and pharmacology research in an exciting and dynamic environment of a well-known successful international biotech company. You will join a team that is dedicated to cellular biology and disease understanding to support research projects in autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. In this context you contribute to the development of disease relevant cellular assays with the purpose to evaluate and screen the activity of small molecules.

Under supervision of a more senior staff member, you contribute to the design and setup of your experiments by reading literature or following detailed protocol information. You are expected to execute cellular experiments independently using multiple lab techniques and readout systems.

You will perform the analysis and interpretation of your own experiments and data generated. In addition, you will document your work in Lab Notebooks according to guidelines and report and present your work in team meetings to your project manager.


Job requirements

Who are you? 

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Biology or related sciences (Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in culturing cell lines and/or primary immune cells (monocytes, macrophages, T and B cells)
  • Hands-on experience with a broad range of in vitro assay methods like luminescence, fluorescence, ELISA, flow cytometry, qPCR is highly desirable
  • Experience with compound handling, high throughput plate formats and assay automation is recommended
  • Knowledge of immunology as well as inflammatory pathways is a plus
  • Strong team player, adaptable, enthusiastic, and self-motivated
  • Competency in data analysis software such as Excel and GraphPad Prism
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
