We are looking for a Scientist CAR-T to join one of our stellar CAR-T Discovery teams in Pittsburgh. You are a creative researcher with a strong track record in experimental design, execution and troubleshooting. In this role, you will contribute to an array of innovative, early-stage projects at the cutting edge of immuno-oncology research and discovery and development of antibody-based therapeutics.

Your role

Your primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Lead projects. Facilitate idea gathering and problem-solving, and coordinate deadlines and priorities.

  • Design and generate phage-display antibody libraries independently or with senior team members.

  • Discover antibodies through panning and screening phage-display libraries.

  • Engineer antibodies using molecular cloning techniques.

  • Characterize antibody candidates via biophysical, biochemical, immunological, and cell-based bioassays.

  • Design, generate, and characterize bispecific antibodies, ADCs, and CAR-T cells.

  • Elucidate anti-tumor mechanisms of antibody candidates in vitro and in vivo.

  • Interpret experimental data, draw conclusions, present results, and participate in lab meetings.

  • Draft patent applications and manuscripts for publication.

  • Maintain records according to SOPs and policies.

Job requirements

Who are you?

  • You obtained your PhD in Life Sciences, focusing on Cell Therapy with a specialization in CAR-T research, or have built significant experience in CAR-T post-PhD. Publications in prestigious journals are a plus.

  • Experience in cell proliferation, cytotoxicity assays, lentiviral vector design and CAR-T cell generation. Any experience related to arming or modifying the metabolic pathway for improving in vivo CAR-T efficacy is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and juggle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

  • Hard-working and interested in learning advanced laboratory techniques and new experimental procedures.

  • Critical thinker with an investigative attitude. You like to solve complex problems.

  • Good collaborator and honest, clear communicator.

  • Based in the Pittsburgh area as this is an on-site, lab-based position.

Base compensation for this position ranges from $81,000 to $135,000. Actual base compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, qualifications, job-related knowledge, demonstrated skills and geographic location. The company reserves the right to modify base salary ranges at any time.
