Scope of the role

As our QC Support Specialist, you will join the QC Support team, located in the Leiden Bio Science Park. This team is responsible for the activities that support the QC activities at Galapagos and the Point-of-Care (PoC) Manufacturing units such as sample management, lab management and the overall equipment lifecycle management. In this role, you are responsible for the coordination of samples from Galapagos, the PoC and external labs, incoming goods sampling and the maintenance of our internal laboratories to ensure that daily activities can run smoothly. You will have an active role in implementing new processes and ensuring GMP compliance.


Your role

  • Manage samples: Coordination, logistics and Inventory (Drug Product, Patient and Internal) at Galapagos, Contract Testing Lab and PoC
  • Sample incoming goods, including peer review of receiving and sampling activities
  • Perform general laboratory trainings such as BSC cleaning, pipetting, etc
  • General laboratory maintenance such as re-stocking, coordination of cleaning activities, logbook review, etc
  • Support EHS / GMO related activities
  • Collaborate with other department on a daily basis
  • Write procedures and support deviations, CAPAs and change controls

Job requirements

Who are you? 

  • MBO-4 in life sciences, biotechnology, or related discipline
  • 1-2 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical / biotech industry preferred
  • Knowledge of GMP guidelines and lean principles
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Service minded
  • Ability to be flexible with changing priorities
  • Self-driven and can-do mindset, without compromising quality
  • Fluent in English
