Project Scope
Galapagos is looking for a consultant role as Associate scientist in vitro biology Screener Small Molecules for a period of 12 months. The person will be part of the Screening & Profiling Team in Discovery Sciences, which is responsible for the optimization, automation and subsequent routine performing of in vitro assays and supports the whole portfolio of research projects within Galapagos.
Your mission
Run biochemical and cellular assays to support hit-to-lead and lead optimization programs
Culture cells to support different projects (maintenance of cell lines and primary cell work)
Work closely with the assay development teams & the automation team to ensure optimal implementation of the assays for routine testing using stand-alone equipment or fully automated HighRES platforms
Be responsible for analysis of own experiments and data reporting to the project teams making sure data are traceable and follow FAIR principles
Job requirements
Who are you?
Bachelor's (or master's) degree in science, preferably one year of experience in screening environment
Excellent team player with objective driven mindset
Good organizational, administrative and communication skills
Knowledge of biochemical/cellular assays and cell culture techniques is a must (cell lines and primary cells)
Able to work independently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fluent in English
