We are looking for a Head of Early Stage Development, Vice President.


Scope of the job

As Head of Early Clinical Development for Oncology Cell Therapy, you join the Development team in the US and Europe. A successful candidate is a highly- motivated clinical research physician with a strong background in management of rapid, early development studies (Proof of concept Phase 0/1 studies) of cellular therapy for cancer. Strong communication and organization skills, work efficiency and adaptability are also essential for this position. 


Your role

Your primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead and implement proof of concept Phase 0/1 clinical studies through an investigator mechanism at sites in Europe and the US
  • Plan and execute all components necessary to efficiently assess new cellular therapy products for oncology in Phase 0/1 studies including coordination with discovery and preclinical development teams, outsourcing CMC (if necessary), IND/IMPD filing, protocol design, investigator contact, clinical site review, site selection, study implementation and monitoring, and outsourcing clinical operations (if necessary),
  • Develop budgets and accurate timelines for new projects
  • Contribute to the acceleration of cellular oncology programs
  • Represent the company in meetings with experts, site investigators, external vendors, and regulators in Europe and the US
  • Manage a multidisciplinary team and supporting staff
  • Evaluate the validity or viability of proposed projects


Job requirements

Who are you?

  • You have an MD or equivalent with experience in early phase clinical research
  • At least 10 - 15 years of clinical development experience, preferably in a biotech or pharmaceutical setting, as demonstrated by prior development and approval of products.
  • Able to work independently
  • Able to coordinate multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Challenged by solving complex problems with limited information
  • Able to work effectively in a highly collaborative manner
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
