As (Senior) Scientist in Mass Spectrometry, you will be part of a team that develops biochemical, biophysical and cellular assays to support our internal small molecule (SM) and biologics drug discovery programs. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our analytical capabilities and driving forward our research projects. You will cover a broad range of activities, including designing and implementing, hands-on execution and optimization of the analytical methodology, generating high quality data, analyze and communicate the data in a structured manner. Ideally, you have a strong background in mass spectrometry, particularly in chemo-proteomics, excellent problem solving and communication skills.

Job requirements

Who are you? 

  • PhD (biology, biochemistry, pharmacy) or equivalent through experience.
  • Proficiency in operating, maintaining and trouble-shooting various type of mass spectrometers such as Sciex triple Quad, RapidFire, qTOF and Fusion Orbitrap.
  • Experience with use and maintenance with micro and nano-LC systems.
  • Experience in targeted proteomics (PRM/SRM) and/or untargeted proteomics (DDA, TMT; DIA), including the most common proteomic software such as MaxQuant, Spectronaut, DIA-NN, Proteome Discoverer, Skyline.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and motivated by the opportunity to develop a chemo-proteomics platform with high impact in drug discovery.
  • Experience with bioinformatics analysis of proteome data is a plus.
  • Experience in working in an industrial setting for at least 3-6 years. Knowledge of the application of proteomics and chemo-proteomics in unravelling covalent compounds mode of action both in vitro and in a cellular context.
  • Good at troubleshooting, proactive and creative in coming up with solutions.
  • Team player with good organizational skills. Capable of interact with multiple teams (modelling, bioinformatics…) in order to bring value to our drug discovery projects.
  • Professional communication in English is a must, both in writing and verbal.
